About the position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled RF Architect to join our team developing state of the art test & measurement products. The candidate will hold a highly visible position in a very dynamic, multi-tasking work environment. The position is a technical role where you will be responsible for the RF architecture across multiple test and measurement products driving convergence when possible. This role requires both technical and leadership skills to be successful across the different teams/locations/products. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to utilize personal leadership, communications and team development skills to help align the teams on architecture, tools and processes while maintaining our innovation leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with diverse areas (e.g. marketing, operations, other divisions) to achieve business unit goals.
  • Display experience and participate in full lifecycle of development for RF Products.
  • Act as a change agent, collaborate with others to create roadmaps and improve development processes.
  • Support our 'One-Team' initiative to converge on tools/processes across the different R&D locations.
  • Mentor the other RF Engineers to better enable cross-site development capabilities.
  • Exercise Business Acumen to make smart business and product trade-off decisions across entire business.
  • Work cross-functionally to perform risk assessments to encourage teams to take informed risks with measured consequences.
  • Manage complexity and ambiguity to lead teams in execution while details are being finalized over time.

Requirements

  • BSEE or equivalent experience (required), advanced engineering degree (preferred)
  • Eight plus years of systems architecture and/or engineering leadership experience
  • 10 years of hands on RF/Electrical development experience
  • xRF Design to 4 GHz
  • PLL Phase Noise Optimization
  • Signal Chain design including Gain, IP3 and IP2
  • Familiarity with Super Heterodyne Tuners
  • Use of simulation tools for complex networks
  • EM processing very important
  • Filter Design and simulation
  • DSP and Signal Processing
  • FIR/Down-sampling/Up-sampling
  • Use MATLAB and Simulink software for simulations
  • DAC's and ADC to 250 MHz Sample rate or greater

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technologies and trends in telecommunications
  • Experience with Cable Plant Structure and Design
  • Experience with Statistical Data analysis Black Belt would be a big plus
  • Experience with C and C++ would be a plus
  • DOCSIS Familiarity
