About the position

LMI is seeking a skilled RF Electrical Engineer in Bremerton, WA to support shipyard modernization efforts as part of U.S. Navy strategic initiatives. The role involves providing on-site RFID technical expertise and overseeing the operations of electronic systems and components, contributing to the improvement of logistics processes through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the workflow and workforce, providing directions and recommendations as necessary.
  • Develop strategies and plans to improve site efficiency, produce progress reports, and coordinate with other workers.
  • Provide on-site passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) technical expertise and support for electronics and system-of-systems components.
  • Research, design, develop, or test electronic components and systems for various applications.
  • Design electronic circuits and components for telecommunications and control systems.
  • Oversee installation staff and manage efforts of all assigned personnel.
  • Recommend and implement hardware and installation configurations based on facility features.
  • Develop and analyze communications protocol requirements considering bandwidth, latency, frequency, and payload.
  • Support the development of new wireless communications protocols to enhance logistics processes.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot systems and components, identifying and mitigating interference and noise.
  • Use RF engineering tools to optimize system performance.
  • Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for fielded products and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement test and qualification procedures for wireless communication systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and field support.
  • Understanding of IoT, RFID, and network engineering.
  • Knowledge of RF hardware systems and testing equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred.

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for education.
