About the position

Actalent is seeking a Senior RF Hardware Design Engineer to join our innovative team in Redondo Beach, California. This role is pivotal in developing printed circuit boards for highly integrated monolithic and multi-chip solutions. The successful candidate will engage in the development of cutting-edge ultra-high speed RF CMOS System on Chips (SoCs) and Multi-Chip Modules (MCMs) tailored for a diverse array of high-frequency applications across commercial, military, and aerospace sectors. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading experts in IC design, package design, and systems engineering, contributing to the advancement of state-of-the-art hybrid digital/RF receivers and transmitters. In this role, you will be responsible for circuit board planning, which includes deciding on interface connectors and major active components, summarizing RF signal and DC current requirements, predicting stackup, and determining RF stripline transmission line layers. You will also forward package mechanical information and BGA ballmap to ensure seamless integration. The circuit board design aspect of the role involves designing boards with analog bandwidths exceeding 50 GHz and digital data rates up to 30 Gbps. You will create Allegro schematics and symbols, manage circuit board layout, and make critical routing changes using Allegro as necessary. Collaboration with team members is essential to ensure board performance and suitability, and you will perform initial electrical measurements and troubleshoot hardware performance concerns in the lab while working closely with Design Verification Test (DVT) engineers.
