About the position

The RF Hardware Engineer at i3 will support the Naval Research Laboratory's Tactical Electronic Warfare Division, focusing on the design and analysis of RF components and circuit assemblies for radar systems. This role is crucial in advancing electronic warfare technologies to protect warfighters from emerging threats.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, and test RF subsystems in seekers for threat simulators.
  • Perform analysis of emerging RF seeker threats and report findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience.
  • Experience with RF circuit board design and layout (Altium, Expedition, etc.).
  • Modeling and simulation of RF circuits using industry standard simulators (LTSpice, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of transmission lines and their application to RF propagation modes (stripline/microstrip antennas, etc.).
  • RF test and evaluation using laboratory equipment (e.g. Keysight ADS, spectrum analyzer).

Nice-to-haves

  • Five (5) years of experience.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing in radar applications.
  • Knowledge of RF antennas and beamforming networks.
  • Experience with RF front end design (e.g. antenna design).
