About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking an experienced RF Hardware Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. This is a contract position expected to last for 12 months or more. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, specifically in hardware radio frequency design and testing. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a degree in Electronics. The RF Hardware Engineer will be responsible for working on products across various applications, including medical, consumer, and telecom sectors. A solid understanding of WiFi, BLE, and telecom standards, as well as FCC regulations, is essential for this position. The RF Hardware Engineer will engage in the design and analysis of transmitter and receiver chains, including components such as Low Noise Amplifiers (LNA), Power Amplifiers (PA), and filters. Experience with RF transceivers, including system-on-chip (SoC) configuration, matching, calibration, and validation, is crucial. The candidate should also be adept at conducting design analysis, link budget analysis, and RF parameter analysis. A good understanding of antenna lobe patterns and their implications for antenna placement within a system is necessary. In this role, the engineer will prepare test cases and update test scripts according to product requirements. The position demands strong testing experience, from component level to product/system level, including debugging and analyzing test results for report generation. Proficiency with RF testing equipment such as vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, wireless communication testers, network analyzers, and noise measurement tools is required. Additionally, exposure to environmental and EMC testing and troubleshooting is beneficial. Documentation skills are important, as the engineer will be responsible for preparing design documents, testing plans, and test reports. Interaction with manufacturing teams and relevant documentation is also part of the job. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design and test RF hardware for various applications including medical, consumer, and telecom products.
  • Conduct design analysis, link budget analysis, and RF parameter analysis.
  • Prepare test cases and update test scripts according to product requirements.
  • Perform testing from component level to product/system level and analyze test results for report generation.
  • Work with RF transceivers, including configuration, matching, calibration, and validation.
  • Utilize RF testing equipment such as vector signal analyzers and network analyzers for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Document design processes, testing plans, and test reports effectively.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams and ensure relevant documentation is maintained.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in RF hardware design and testing.
  • Degree in Electronics or related field.
  • Experience with RF design and testing in medical, consumer, and telecom applications.
