About the position

KBR is seeking an RF Hardware Engineer to support one of our government customers. This position requires the engineer to provide expertise in the design, performance, and acquisition of a major program. The role is situated in a new program office, which presents a challenging schedule. The RF Engineer will be involved in supporting major milestones and testing events, as well as reviewing requirements and test documents. A critical part of the job will be to review performance and testing results, advising the Government on the success or failure of the test and design processes. In addition to these responsibilities, the RF Engineer will supervise contractor design, performance testing, analysis, and verification. Participation in design reviews is essential, where the engineer will advise the Government on performance and design risks. The engineer will work as part of a team that oversees all aspects of the design and build of the RF mission payload, ensuring that all components meet the necessary specifications and performance criteria. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of the program and the effective delivery of RF systems to meet mission requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the design, performance, and acquisition of a major program.
  • Support major milestones and testing events.
  • Review requirements and test documents.
  • Review performance and testing results, advising the Government on success or failure of tests and designs.
  • Supervise contractor design, performance testing, analysis, and verification.
  • Participate in design reviews and advise on performance and design risks.
  • Oversee all aspects of the design and build of the RF mission payload.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a BS in Engineering, Scientific, or Technical discipline, or 6+ years with an MS, or 5+ years with a PhD in a related field.
  • Experience with the system design trade process, assessing system design options, and analyzing mission requirements.
  • Experience designing and evaluating RF hardware design.
  • Familiarity with NRO mission programs and enterprise.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years experience with NRO space and RF systems acquisition and/or sustainment.
  • Understanding of RF systems engineering, acquisition, and operations best practices.
  • 3+ years experience with RF hardware design.
