About the position

The position is for a college intern within the Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon in Andover, MA. The intern will engage in the development, design, and manufacturing of compound semiconductor devices and integrated circuits for defense applications. This role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in Electrical Engineering or related STEM fields, providing hands-on experience in semiconductor technology and test engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform fixtured and on-wafer RF/microwave/millimeter-wave measurements on GaAs and GaN devices, modules, and MMICs.
• Assemble RF/microwave/millimeter-wave test systems.
• Use software to control test equipment and plot test results.
• Work in a cleanroom environment, handling GaAs and GaN wafers.
• Assist with various lithography, deposition, and etch processes.
• Perform and document optical microscope inspections and scanning electron microscope imaging.
• Conduct failure analysis and data analysis.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience/coursework in RF/microwave, Analog, Digital Electronics, Circuit Design or Analysis, Electrical Components, Electromagnetics.
• Lab experiences specific to RF/microwave device and circuit measurements.
• Knowledge of electrical circuit design, analysis, and troubleshooting using common lab equipment.
• Experience in semiconductor wafer processing techniques.
• Technical working knowledge of electronic components and their application.
• Experience in Root-Cause Corrective Action investigations.
• Experience with software such as Python, Labview, Keysight ADS, HFSS, Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB, CST, Mentor Graphics' Expedition, AutoCAD, TCAD, C++, Java, JMP.
