About the position

The Networks Design Consultant - Communications Engineering role at Genesis Corp involves the architecture, engineering, design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of RF communication systems and related infrastructure. This remote contract position focuses on delivering high-performance solutions while ensuring the reliability and availability of communication systems for various telecom technology platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-performance, high-availability, and cost-effective solutions to manage ongoing costs while meeting technical and business requirements.
  • Participate in installations and upgrades of communications technologies to ensure proper implementation of computing and network architecture solutions.
  • Support the operational performance and maintenance of existing network circuits as well as design and deliver new products/product enhancements.
  • Ensure technical standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements are properly implemented on assigned projects.
  • Maintain scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
  • Take ownership of assigned work and coordinate with internal and external groups on project delivery.
  • Maintain functional knowledge of technology, technology changes, and the relationships of technology to emerging business requirements.
  • Participate on the Communications Engineering team supporting various technology platforms delivering voice, video, and computing services.
  • Ensure a high level of reliability and availability of communication systems.
  • Work across client to ensure that communications systems meet business needs and objectives.
  • Ensure that change management procedures are followed properly.
  • Demonstrate stewardship, knowledge, and proficiency in assigned process guidance document creation and management.

Requirements

  • Administrative and technical writing skills through proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and other document production techniques.
  • Bachelor or Associate's degree in Networking, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications or related field, or related work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of common test equipment (e.g., DMMs, antenna analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and RF wattmeters).
  • Providing network circuit design, platform administration, and support.

Nice-to-haves

  • AutoCAD and drafting skills may provide enhanced interactions with drafting personnel.
  • Proficiency in Document Management principles and tools including department policy adherence, version controls, approvals, regulatory/compliance, document management software methods.
