About the position
Skyworks is seeking a skilled RF Test Engineer to join our innovative team in Newbury Park, CA. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing cost-effective methods for RF characterization tests specifically for Power Amplifiers, Front-End Modules (FEMs), and Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs). As an RF Test Engineer, you will be responsible for automating rack-and-stack test setups within a characterization test environment. This includes investigating and developing RF test solutions, creating test plans, and scripting automation in SCPI/C++. You will also evaluate test time and cost reduction strategies, investigate new and innovative test solutions, and may evaluate new test equipment or methods. Your role will require you to create detailed test procedures and documentation for internal use, as well as read and interpret technical documents such as schematics and data sheets. Responsibilities
- Designs, develops and implements cost-effective methods of RF characterization tests for Power Amplifiers, FEMs, and LNAs.
- Automating rack-and-stack test setups in a characterization test environment.
- Investigating and developing RF test solutions, including creating test plans and automation scripting in SCPI/C++.
- Evaluate test time and test cost reduction.
- Investigate new and innovative test solutions, including evaluating new test equipment or test methods.
- Create test procedures and documentation for internal use.
- Read and interpret technical documents, including schematics, data sheets, and test procedures.
- Perform data analysis and prepare reports using Excel or other tools.
Requirements
- BS degree + 2 years of working experience or an MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related science field.
- Experience with the use of RF test equipment, including Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Power meters, Signal Generators, and Load-pull/Tuners.
- Experience testing GSM/EDGE/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE/FDD-LTE/5GNR measurements at a system or component level is preferred.
- Test automation using communication protocols including PXI, GPIB, USB, PCI, TCP-IP, RS232.
- Proficiency with any of the Microsoft Visual Studio programming languages, including C, C++, C#, Python or LabView.
- Must be proficient in MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
