About the position

We are seeking certified Riggers with current nuclear clearance or recent nuclear experience for a temporary position located at 5570 Hog Island Road, Surry, VA. The role involves aligning, leveling, and anchoring cranes and equipment, as well as selecting appropriate gear, shackles, and cables based on load size and work schedule. The successful candidates will be responsible for assembling and installing supporting structures, rigging, hoist, and pulling gear, and attaching loads to rigging. Additionally, they will connect pulleys and blocks to overhead structures and signal or give verbal directions to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of both workers and materials. Monitoring gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that machines are functioning properly is also a critical part of the job. The required duties include mechanical assembly, rigging, drilling and tapping, torquing, and working at heights. Candidates will also be expected to dismantle, clean, maintain, repair, and store rigging equipment. This position is temporary, with a pay rate of $46.00 per hour, and includes a per diem of $160.00 for days worked, as well as a completion bonus of $2000.00. The job is expected to last approximately three weeks, starting on April 21, 2024, and requires seven certified riggers with mechanical experience and current nuclear certification or recent experience in a nuclear plant setting within the last 365 days.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must have current NCCER Rigger certification.
  • Valid driver license or state identification.
  • Current nuclear clearance or recent nuclear experience within the last 365 days.
  • Mechanical experience.
