About the position

The Rigger Senior General Foreman at Bechtel Corporation is responsible for overseeing and ensuring safe work practices on the job site, with a focus on achieving the company's Zero Accident objective. This role involves providing guidance and supervision to craft workers, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, and coordinating work between different crafts to maintain project schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safe work observations to promote safe behavior among employees.
• Provide feedback and consequences for safe and unsafe behaviors.
• Read and interpret blueprints and job specifications, implementing Bechtel procedures and work rules.
• Understand project work scope and integrate priorities effectively.
• Instruct journeymen on specific craft tasks, including safety procedures and techniques.
• Coordinate work between different craft disciplines.
• Administer and enforce work and safety rules consistently.
• Provide guidance to foremen to prevent crew work stoppage.
• Assign work plans based on understanding of work priorities and schedules.
• Identify problems and develop action plans to resolve them with minimal disruption.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to prevent scheduling conflicts.
• Ensure quality of work performed by supervised crafts.
• Submit accurate reports regarding time sheets, backcharges, quantity, and work status.
• Ensure foremen and crews understand assignments before work commencement.
• Encourage the exchange of ideas among team members.
• Administer praise and discipline fairly, initiating corrective actions when necessary.
• Participate in preplanning and provide input at weekly scheduling meetings.
• Monitor work progress and report potential schedule issues.

Requirements

• Typically requires 8 years of industrial construction experience.
• At least 4 years in supervisory roles at Bechtel.
