About The Position

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 5 plus years of boat rigging experience.
  • Familiarity with boats and nomenclature.
  • Ability and willingness to go aloft is highly desirable.
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead yard projects involving sailboat rigging, anchoring, davits, and cable steering systems.
  • Remove and reinstall hardware for mast and deck paint jobs.
  • Fabricate, install, and repair ship's rigging, including stepping and unstopping masts and antenna rigs.
  • Install masts, booms, hooks, swivels, shackles, electronics, and various lines.
  • Splice wire and nylon rope to fabricate items such as halyards and lifelines.
  • Understand crane operation and work aloft, following defined instructions and procedures.
  • Survey and inspect rigging, making recommendations for replacement or corrective repairs.
