About the position

As a Right of Way Agent at Jacobs, you will be responsible for acquiring easements for infrastructure projects across California. This role involves conducting negotiations with landowners and ensuring that all land acquisition is completed to execute projects effectively. You will work collaboratively with a team from start to finish, performing general administrative tasks to document and report easements accurately. This position is remote but requires residency in California.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and acquire easements from private property owners.
• Collaborate with landowners and internal teams to ensure easement aligns with company needs.
• Conduct land rights research and understand legal descriptions.
• Create and maintain relationships with landowners to facilitate smooth ROW acquisition processes.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of ROW agreements, negotiations, and correspondence.
• Serve as the property owner's main contact throughout the project life.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of Right of Way acquisition experience.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Ability to understand ROW regulations.
• Strong inter-personal relationship skills, and verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Active California Real Estate License
• Active California notary or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
