About the position

The Right of Way Agent will provide relocation assistance services for federally funded road projects in Ohio, ensuring compliance with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970. This role involves preparing real estate documents, conducting property research, and communicating with property owners throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires a blend of administrative tasks and potential future responsibilities in property acquisition, with a focus on effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide relocation assistance services for federally funded road projects.
• Prepare real estate documents and perform property research for ownership and boundary information.
• Communicate with property owners and their representatives regarding relocations.
• Perform general administrative work including preparing legal documents, reports, and correspondence.
• Attend meetings and manage file documentation including copying and filing documents.
• Enter and retrieve computer data for project management.
• Provide customer service and related functions.

Requirements

• Minimum three (3) years of right of way acquisition experience.
• Active Ohio Notary certification.
• ODOT Prequalified in Negotiations.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Dropbox.
• Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to access ORC's systems.
• Valid Driver's License.
