About the position

The Actuarial Product Support team at Corebridge Financial serves as a vital resource across various business functions, including Product Management, IT, and Operations. This role is primarily focused on supporting the Registered Index Linked Annuity (RILA) product line within the Individual Retirement (IR) Product Management function. The team is composed of high-performing professionals with diverse backgrounds in mathematics, programming, and actuarial science, all working collaboratively to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of systems calculations and policy values for annuity products. As a Senior Product Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting daily analyses and validations of market data that are crucial for complex calculations determining policy values. This involves monitoring financial markets to identify trends and expectations that may affect outputs. You will analyze both input and output data for anomalies, communicate findings to the leadership team, and contribute to decision-making processes based on your analyses. Your role will also include recommending enhancements to reporting, analytics, and processes to improve overall efficiency. In addition to these responsibilities, you will provide comprehensive support for the RILA product line. This includes testing systems calculations and policy level values, validating statements, assisting with actuarial audits, and collaborating with team members and other functional areas. You will be tasked with early validation of all RILA transactions and calculations, ensuring timely resolution of any system or process issues that arise. Your expertise will be essential in supporting issue resolution and maintaining the integrity of the RILA product line.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily analysis and validation of market data used in complex calculations and output used to determine policy values
  • Monitor financial markets to identify trends and expectations of resulting outputs
  • Analyze input and output for anomalies and communicate results to leadership team; contribute to decision-making based on outcomes
  • Recommend enhancements to reporting, analytics and processes
  • Provide overall support for the RILA product line, including but not limited to, testing of systems calculations/policy level values, statement validation, assist with Actuarial audits, and collaborate with team members and other functional areas
  • Early validation of all RILA transactions and calculations and facilitating timely resolution to any system or process issues related to RILA product line
  • Support issues resolution

Requirements

  • 3+ years corporate experience as a financial engineer, data analyst or related capacity, preferably with a global bank or insurance company
  • A solid understanding and experience with financial mathematics, particularly with both Vanilla and Exotic Options (Black and Closed Form models)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Python, SQL, and Power BI
  • Experience with RILA products is preferred
  • Experience with regression testing, trouble-shooting and analytical frameworks to monitor data quality with exposure to large scale systems in test and production environments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate issues to audiences not familiar with the complexities of the calculations and to quickly and effectively raise up issues should they occur
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; detail and process oriented
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment and to the needs of the department
