About the position
The Ripening Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the quality and readiness of products within the warehouse operations, specifically focusing on the ripening process of bananas. This position requires a detail-oriented leader who can ensure that products meet high standards of quality and freshness, while also managing the operational aspects of the Distribution Center.
Responsibilities
- Develop predictive models to maintain ripening schedules for optimal product quality.
- Oversee the ripening cycle to ensure peak freshness and extended shelf-life.
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming products to confirm quality standards.
- Collaborate with Distribution Center teams and customers to adjust operations based on demand.
- Implement routine maintenance and sanitation schedules for equipment and ripening rooms.
- Track customer feedback and take action to improve operations.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of banana ripening, quality, and supply chain processes.
- Strong organizational skills to forecast, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with teams and customers.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and Microsoft tools.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification or willingness to get certified on Material Handling Equipment (e.g., Electric Pallet Jack, Sit Down Forklift, Reach Forklift).
