About the position

This position at Bank of America is responsible for managing a team that supports data and technology requests, complex reporting, and analysis to manage risk and minimize credit and operating losses. The role involves overseeing the development and execution of reporting, analyzing portfolio trends, and ensuring alignment with business strategies. The position also requires collaboration with technology teams to implement necessary changes for ongoing data needs, making it crucial for effective risk management and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development, execution, and enhancement of reporting to allow Risk and business partners to effectively identify and manage risk.
  • Oversees the analysis of trends and data design, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
  • Serves as a liaison between data, technology, and reporting teams to support strategic initiatives affecting multiple Risk functions.
  • Oversees database production processes and performance reports for senior management using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Manages communications related to complex ad-hoc requests for information from internal and external parties.
  • Leads cross-functional strategic efforts to remediate data quality issues.
  • Provides oversight of relevant systems and assures controls are operating effectively based on feedback from control checks and reviews.
  • Acts as primary credit risk business and controls oversight for Residential Real Estate Collateral Valuations processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on consumer and/or small business lending.
  • 5-10 years of experience in First Mortgage or Home Equity lending, focusing on credit risk oversight, residential real estate appraisal, or valuation.
  • Working knowledge of business analytical and visualization tools.
  • Strong management, organization, leadership, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of Risk Management practices and policies.
  • Ability to interface confidently across all levels of management with both business and support partners.
  • Regular use of discretion and independent, sound judgment.
  • Industrious, self-directed, and intellectually curious.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred with a major/concentration in finance, statistics, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Database and programming background (SAS, SQL, R, Python) is a plus.
