About the position
The Risk and Compliance Manager at Yehowa Medical Services is responsible for leading risk management and compliance initiatives within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This role ensures adherence to California's healthcare regulations while supporting quality assurance processes to maintain clinical excellence. The position requires collaboration with leadership and staff to foster a culture of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee risk management programs that address clinical and operational risks, aligning with California's FQHC regulatory requirements.
- Lead QI/QA meetings and reporting.
- Lead and facilitate compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Conduct audits, reviews, and assessments of clinical operations to identify and mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Support quality improvement and assurance (QIQA) efforts; assess clinical processes, identify gaps, and recommend solutions.
- Provide training for staff on risk management and regulatory compliance topics, promoting a proactive approach to quality and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and update policies and procedures, maintaining alignment with California standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in healthcare risk management, compliance, or similar role within a healthcare setting, preferably in an FQHC.
- Comprehensive knowledge of California and federal healthcare regulations applicable to FQHCs, including Title 22, HIPAA, and OSHA.
- Familiarity with QIQA methodologies; experience preferred but training is available.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with quality assurance audits and electronic health records (EHR) data analysis.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, CPHQ, or Certified in Healthcare Compliance, CHC).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
