About The Position

The Risk and Safety Consultant at Barrett Business Services, Inc. (BBSI) plays a crucial role in providing leadership to business-owner clients and internal teams. The primary objective is to help clients maximize their investment in human capital through the establishment of best practices in enterprise risk management and risk mitigation strategies. This position focuses on promoting a proactive risk management culture, occupational health and safety, and behavior-based safety, while demonstrating strong business acumen and a commitment to delivering results.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of occupational health and safety principles and practices.
• Experience working in a dynamic team environment.
• Bilingual in Spanish required.
• Multi-client consulting experience is a must.
• Experience working directly with business owners is a plus.
• Understanding of safety culture and ability to demonstrate how to shift one.
• Demonstrated proficiency in conducting root cause analysis for risk mitigation.
• At least 10 years of risk management, occupational health and safety, and regulatory experience required.
• Professional certification(s) such as CSP, ARM, RPIH, CHMM, CIH, or Six Sigma preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to write, develop, and deliver successful presentations.

Nice To Haves

• Process Control and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
• Risk mitigation from the insurance industry preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to business-owner clients and internal teams.
• Help clients maximize their investment in human capital through best practices in risk management.
• Educate and influence clients on proactive risk management culture and occupational health and safety.
• Conduct root cause analysis for risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with clients to implement safety initiatives and programs.
• Perform facility, job site, and pre-construction surveys.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, including OSHA consultations.
• Develop and deliver successful presentations to individuals and groups at all levels of an organization.
