About the position

The Risk Control Consultant will apply risk control and risk management techniques to manage and retain clients on the CIA Waste and Recycling Team. This role focuses on evaluating client exposures and controls, developing service plans to enhance client performance, and ensuring client retention. The consultant will work in a team environment while handling individual service management responsibilities, particularly for complex and multi-location clients.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing and prospective clients through risk management assessments for various business segments and lines of insurance coverage.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver consultative services based on clients' actual and potential loss exposures.
  • Work closely with the internal team to service accounts and actively participate in the Account Management Process.
  • Use analytics to support plans and recommendations, demonstrating the correlation of service strategy to client improvement.
  • Deliver effective presentations to all levels of an organization, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Manage a workload focused on large and multi-location insured clients, captive, and larger accounts.
  • Develop customized service plans and manage service delivery, including preparing large account service instructions.
  • Communicate progress to the team through verbal and written methods.
  • Create value-added services through training, benchmarking, and delivering safety and health consultations for clients.

Requirements

  • Five years of risk control, risk management, or safety experience.
  • Private industry experience preferred with a proven ability to reduce the cost of risk.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation preferred.
  • Experience working within a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) is a plus.
  • Ability to understand how an organization operates through research, observation, and discussions with client contacts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with analytics and data interpretation to support risk management strategies.
  • Strong presentation skills for delivering information to various organizational levels.
