About the position

As a Risk Management Analyst at Ryman Hospitality Properties, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and administering all aspects of the corporate risk management program for the company and its affiliates. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and evaluate potential risks associated with various business units, and to recommend programs that effectively reduce organizational risk and legal liability. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel, ensuring that you will work closely with senior leadership to align risk management strategies with the company's overall objectives. In this role, you will maintain and facilitate relationships with multiple insurance brokers, underwriters, and service providers. This includes placing and managing insurance renewals for the company and its affiliates, which may involve joint ventures with multiple effective dates and locations. It is essential that the company's interests are appropriately served and protected at all times, and you will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring insurance programs maintained by third-party operators of the company's hospitality assets. You will also be tasked with recommending and implementing cost-efficient loss prevention programs to ensure maximum protection of the organization's assets and employees. This includes both insured and self-insured programs aimed at minimizing workplace hazards and providing effective risk assessment and control programs. Additionally, you will review, consult, and advise on first and third-party contracts in collaboration with the Legal Department, focusing on indemnity, required insurance coverages, and other various insurance requirements. Your role will involve assisting the Corporate Security and Human Resources teams in the investigation and reporting of accidents, as well as coordinating follow-up with insurance companies, third-party administrators, adjusters, and attorneys. You will also assist the Legal Department in liability and lawsuit claims activities, including setting claim reserves. Ensuring compliance with safety legislation, industry practices, and market requirements will be a key part of your responsibilities, as will submitting risk management and related reports to regulatory agencies to comply with all legal requirements. Finally, you will provide continual assessment and advice to management on alternative means of risk management, and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years related insurance industry or risk management experience required, preferably in a hospitality or entertainment setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organizational, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining safety and loss control programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and communicate exposure to loss to multiple levels of internal and external customers.
  • Solid computer proficiency.
