About the position

As a Credit Officer in Risk Management and Compliance at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing credit risk for the Business Banking line of business. Your expertise will help the firm grow responsibly by analyzing credit opportunities, structuring transactions, and making informed decisions that impact the company and its clients. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, relationship management, and a deep understanding of credit policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and decisions credit requests.
  • Manage the end-to-end issuer/client credit relationship, including existing and new transactions.
  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative credit analysis and gather requirements for business and technical stories.
  • Provide input to the structure and terms of credit products extended to issuers/clients.
  • Run complex models and challenge modelling outputs to identify potential weaknesses.
  • Manage and analyze large amounts of data related to credit risk exposures.
  • Identify, analyze, and escalate credit risk issues to respective business areas.
  • Perform credit analysis of potential opportunities and existing credit relationships across the business spectrum.
  • Partner with the Model Review Group to prepare model documentation and obtain usage approvals.
  • Provide input into deep dives on the Credit Risk portfolio and support Credit Risk decisions for senior Risk forums.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of advanced courses in finance, accounting, and credit through a bank-sponsored training program or college coursework.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a relationship manager, credit analyst, or similar position requiring business banking/commercial knowledge and credit judgment.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate objective views based on professional analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit philosophy and policies, loan documentation, bankruptcy, and related legal issues.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while assuming individual responsibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate degree in business preferred.
  • Business Banking/Commercial portfolio management experience.
