Credit Intermediation and Related Activities

About the position

As a Credit Officer in Risk Management and Compliance at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing credit risk for the Business Banking line of business. This position involves analyzing credit opportunities, structuring transactions, and making informed decisions regarding new and existing extensions of credit. You will be responsible for conducting due diligence, negotiating terms, and providing expert judgment to address real-world challenges that impact the company and its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and make decisions on credit requests.
  • Manage the end-to-end issuer/client credit relationship, including existing and new transactions.
  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative credit analysis.
  • Gather requirements and write business and technical stories for management consumption.
  • Provide input on the structure and terms of credit products extended to issuers/clients.
  • Run complex models and challenge modeling outputs.
  • Manage and analyze large amounts of data related to credit risk exposures.
  • Identify, analyze, and escalate credit risk issues to relevant business areas.
  • Perform credit analysis of potential opportunities and existing credit relationships.
  • Partner with the Model Review Group to prepare model documentation and obtain usage approvals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of advanced courses in finance, accounting, and credit.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a relationship manager, credit analyst, or similar position.
  • Ability to formulate and articulate objective views based on professional analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of credit philosophy and policies, loan documentation, bankruptcy, and related legal issues.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment while assuming individual responsibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate degree in business preferred.
  • Business Banking/Commercial portfolio management experience.
