About the position

As a Risk Management - Business Banking Strategic Analytics - Senior Associate in the Consumer & Business Banking (CBB) Risk Management group at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm remains strong and resilient. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct in-depth analysis related to various credit risk initiatives, particularly within the cash management and treasury sectors, as well as risk-graded business loans and lines. This position requires you to identify, measure, manage, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies that align with the firm's objectives. You will provide high-level analytic support for complex projects that necessitate sophisticated data analytics on large datasets, making this an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact strategic initiatives that are crucial to the firm and the broader financial services industry. In this role, you will be expected to attain comprehensive knowledge of cash management, treasury, and business loans, gaining insights into emerging trends in credit risk associated with these products. You will analyze cash management and business lending strategies, supporting efforts to develop risk strategies that not only reduce credit losses but also enhance revenue benefits for the firm. Additionally, you will organize enhancements and automation of underwriting strategies, reporting, and other repetitive processes, while conducting ad hoc analytics and contributing to various projects representing Risk Management. Your ability to provide accurate and concise results will be critical, as you will present findings, recommendations, and presentations to management. The role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and multitask on several projects simultaneously, collaborating with a broader team that includes product, modeling, underwriting, and technology professionals. Responsibilities

  • Attain knowledge of Cash Management/Treasury/Business loans and lines with full insight into emerging trends in credit risk associated with these products.
  • Acquire an understanding of the operational processes (e.g. manual underwriting, portfolio management, collections) which will aid in understanding acquisition performance drivers.
  • Analyze cash management and business lending strategies and support efforts to develop risk strategies which reduce credit losses and improve revenue benefit to the firm.
  • Organize enhancements and automation of underwriting, strategies, reporting and other repetitive processes.
  • Conduct ad hoc analytics and contribute to various projects representing Risk Management.
  • Provide accurate and concise results and present findings, recommendations and presentations to Management.
  • Work independently and multitask on several projects.
  • Collaborate with the broader team including product, modeling, underwriting, and technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional experience related to risk management or other quantitative field of work.
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of professional experience related to risk management or other quantitative field of work.
  • Advanced understanding of SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Viya, SQL or similar languages.
  • Ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable insights.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Familiarity with risk analytic techniques and strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity, self-direction with an ability to learn quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience delivering recommendations to senior management.
  • Knowledge of business banking credit risk preferred.
  • Knowledge of financial statements preferred.
