About the position

The Risk Management Executive at Bank of America plays a crucial role in the Regulatory Issues Management and Remediation Function within Global Risk Management. This position is responsible for ensuring quality assurance of regulatory issues, including Matters Requiring Attention, and for guiding regulatory issue owners to meet quality standards and regulatory expectations. The executive will also contribute to the design of reporting and information flows to ensure smooth operations of the quality assurance function across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in establishing risk management procedures and standards.
  • Ensures adherence to the policies and procedures established by the company.
  • Oversees and directs the processes and controls for in-scope, in-line QA activities.
  • Works with the Regulatory Remediation Quality Assurance Deputy Lead to enhance existing processes and establish new processes for the In-line QA lifecycle.
  • Partners with Reg Issues Strategy & Enablement Executive and the Reg Issue Portfolio Executive to assist issue owners in timely remediation of issues.
  • Revises, creates, and maintains templates and documentation for consistency in QA activities.
  • Provides effective challenge to issue owners regarding remediation planning and execution.
  • Communicates QA findings to issue owners, Internal Audit, and the Reg Remediation Quality Assurance Deputy Lead, providing recommendations based on findings.
  • Develops communications to keep stakeholders informed of progress and changes to processes.
  • Ensures learnings from Quality Assurance and remediation efforts are documented and incorporated into training and processes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services industry or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate at the executive level.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships and provide thought leadership.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to influence senior leaders and challenge the status quo.
  • Significant business knowledge of risk management and regulatory interactions.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong horizontal and vertical leadership skills in a matrixed environment.
