About the position

The Risk Management - Infection Prevention Nurse (IPN) at Ararat Nursing Facility is responsible for overseeing and implementing infection prevention and control programs within the skilled nursing facility. This role is crucial for monitoring, investigating, preventing, and controlling infectious diseases to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors. The IPN will collaborate closely with nursing leadership, medical staff, and facility teams to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and best practices in infection control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and implement infection prevention and control programs within the skilled nursing facility.
• Monitor, investigate, prevent, and control infectious diseases.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership, medical staff, and facility teams to ensure compliance with infection control regulations.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control guidelines, including CDC, CMS, OSHA, and CDPH regulations.
• Provide training and presentations on infection control practices.
• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and infection surveillance systems.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid California nursing license.
• 1+ years experience as an Infection Prevention/Risk Management Nurse.
• Infection Control Certification (CIC) preferred or must obtain certification immediately.
• Strong work ethic and professional appearance.
• General knowledge of all Nursing practices.
• Experience with infection surveillance and outbreak management.
• In-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control guidelines.
• Strong understanding of microbiology and epidemiology.
• Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English; Armenian or Spanish speaking is a plus.

Nice-to-haves
