About the position

The Risk Management Intern position at Combined Insurance offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the field of risk management during the Summer of 2025. Interns will work in a dynamic environment, contributing to various projects that support the company's risk management initiatives. This role emphasizes personal growth, accountability, and a commitment to ethical practices while providing valuable insights into the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

  • Performing vendor risk assessments for partner organizations to validate the existence of a proper control environment.
  • Monitoring risk exposures in conformity with the risk principles, profile, appetite, and limits approved by the Board.
  • Partnering closely with other control functions to ensure operational controls meet management's need for risk oversight.
  • Supporting the Global Risk Management team in educating the business on risk policies, processes, and applications.
  • Reviewing user access reports to ensure appropriate access based on individual roles and working with management for approvals.
  • Attending Risk Management meetings and overseeing the status of remediation programs for control issues.
  • Reviewing new business opportunities and outsourcing initiatives while creating awareness of relevant risks.
  • Working with management to evaluate the resilience of the business continuity framework.
