About the position

The Risk Management Intern at Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is responsible for supporting the Third-Party Risk Management department through various administrative and operational tasks. This role is designed for current college students pursuing a degree in Business, providing them with hands-on experience in risk management while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The intern will gain exposure to the financial services industry and contribute to the company's commitment to high-quality customer service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties related to the operations of the Third-Party Risk Management department.
• Facilitate documentation related to community on and offsite events.
• Assist with insurance-related administrative functions.
• Support secured party customer deposit account arrangements.
• Provide general support functions as needed.
• Assist management with administrative roles related to the CFSI third-party risk management program.
• Maintain compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the position.
• Ensure adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Requirements

• Current college student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business or a related field.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgment.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to adapt to change and maintain integrity and ethics.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work products.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
