About the position
The Vice President of Risk Management in Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries at JPMorgan Chase plays a crucial role in ensuring the firm's resilience by managing risks associated with commercial banking services for clients with revenues between $20 million and $500 million. This position involves underwriting and structuring transactions, maintaining client relationships, and providing leadership within the team while adhering to credit policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Utilize excellent credit analysis to underwrite and structure new transactions and manage the assigned credit portfolio.
- Assess risks and mitigants, balance risk and reward, and manage renewals, amendments, and new transactions while maintaining acceptable credit reporting metrics.
- Formulate independent views and communicate them clearly to partners and senior leadership.
- Work proactively with internal and external contacts to facilitate transaction progress.
- Act with urgency to meet internal and client deadlines.
- Develop strong client relationships and serve as an expert on Credit Policy for internal partners.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members and participate in organizational improvement projects.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills to effectively solve problems.
Requirements
- BA/BS/BBA degree is required.
- Completion of a major corporate or commercial bank credit training program or equivalent experience in corporate banking/corporate finance.
- At least 6 years' experience in commercial banking/lending with extensive credit analysis.
- Significant accounting and finance knowledge.
- Strong working knowledge of credit agreements and other loan documentation.
