About the position

As a Nature and Social Risk Vice President in the Risk Management Nature and Social Risk Team at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the firm's approach to Nature and Social Risk issues. This position involves developing and implementing strategies to identify, manage, and monitor environmental risks, ensuring the firm remains resilient and compliant with evolving regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support development of an in-house analytical and model-driven approach for environmental risks.
• Determine appropriate metrics for assessing environmental risk at the portfolio, client, and asset level.
• Establish requirements for collecting data on environmental risks and drive firm-wide needs for scenario analysis.
• Identify and assess relevant data vendors for environmental risk data.
• Engage with other functions across the firm on environmental risk matters.
• Participate in responding to global environmental and social regulations and prepare external disclosures.
• Provide input into research on environmental and social issues affecting the firm and its clients.

Requirements

• Experience in environmental and/or climate modeling, including model evaluation and development.
• Excellent analytical skills and comfort working with large datasets.
• Proficient with coding (Python) and geospatial analysis.
• Strong academic background in a highly quantitative discipline such as engineering, physics, geography, or math.
• Understanding of the current voluntary and regulatory landscape for environmental topics as it relates to the financial sector.
• Knowledge of environmental risks and their transmission channels for financial institutions.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to convey analytical output clearly and succinctly.
