About the position

ZemiTek, LLC is seeking a Risk Management Officer (RIMO) to support the Risk Management Advisory Team (RMAT) within the Audit, Risk, and Performance Management (ARPM) Division of USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA). The RIMO will play a crucial role in the coordination and management of U.S. Government international humanitarian assistance, which aims to save lives and alleviate human suffering in response to disasters. This position is essential for ensuring that BHA's humanitarian response programs adhere to policy guidelines and U.S. Government regulations. The RIMO will work closely with program teams to assess and mitigate programmatic risks, liaise with auditors, and support audit responses. The role requires a strong understanding of risk management principles and the ability to maintain compliance with USAID and USG policies. The RIMO will be responsible for monitoring and tracking internal controls, risk assessments, and compliance issues, while also providing regular updates and resources to BHA staff regarding risk management requirements. This position involves maintaining a working knowledge of relevant regulations and policies, supporting internal control assessments, and ensuring that USG resources do not reach sanctioned groups or foreign terrorist organizations. The RIMO will also assist in the development and maintenance of tracking systems for audit, risk, and compliance issues, and will provide support for responding to audits or investigations related to BHA awards. In addition to internal systems management, the RIMO will engage in portfolio management by implementing compliance monitoring and evaluation procedures, reviewing applications for BHA funding, and supporting staff in monitoring partner compliance with USG laws and regulations. The RIMO will represent the Risk Management Advisory Team in various outreach efforts and will draft responses to requests for information on BHA's activities. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track internal controls, risk assessment, risk management, and compliance issues.
  • Support program teams in developing and implementing risk profiles for BHA programs.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of tracking systems for audit, risk, and compliance issues.
  • Provide regular updates and resources to BHA staff on risk management requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of USG regulations and USAID policies relevant to risk management.
  • Support internal controls assessments and management processes.
  • Assist in identifying and preventing USG resources from reaching sanctioned groups.
  • Implement compliance monitoring and evaluation procedures for portfolio management.
  • Support staff in reviewing and monitoring partner compliance with USG laws and regulations.
  • Represent the Risk Management Advisory Team during outreach efforts and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2+) years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with no experience, or a high school diploma with six (6+) years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Secret clearance.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves
