About the position

Knapp Medical Center is seeking a Risk Management RN Coordinator to join their Quality Assurance Team. This role focuses on detecting, monitoring, assessing, mitigating, and preventing risks to patients, ensuring the highest quality of healthcare is provided. The coordinator will be responsible for implementing the Risk Management Program and collaborating with various departments to enhance patient safety and care quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, organize, coordinate, and implement the Risk Management Program to minimize loss and protect the organization's assets.
• Participate in performance improvement data collection and activities to promote an integrated healthcare program.
• Collaborate with safety and security personnel and engage in risk-related activities.
• Assist with claims investigation, management, and litigation processes.
• Facilitate the reporting of safety data/events and evaluate risk management programs using data capture and trend analysis.
• Develop and implement initiatives, policies, and procedures for risk reduction, including staff education activities.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team on problem identification, resolution, cost containment, and implementation of new services.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a healthcare-related field (preferred).
• Fellow or Diplomat of American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers, Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) (preferred).
• Five years of clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting, including a minimum of two years of inpatient experience (preferred).
• Experience in risk management and/or professional liability claims management (preferred).
• Knowledge of current State Laws and Regulations applicable to the facility.

Nice-to-haves

• Fellow or Diplomat of American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers.
• Experience in risk management and/or professional liability claims management.
