About the position

As an Associate in the Auto Risk Management organization at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in the Collections Risk Strategy function. This position involves developing, executing, and monitoring credit risk management strategies for the auto loan and lease portfolio. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to leverage data and insights, assess the effectiveness of collections strategies, and identify opportunities for optimization, all while driving innovative solutions to enhance performance and mitigate losses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analysis on credit risk and collections strategy effectiveness to identify emerging risks and assess existing strategies.
  • Monitor industry and economic trends in the automotive sector and changes in consumer behavior to understand impacts on collateral values and repayment willingness.
  • Oversee operations and credit risk strategy performance, identifying issues and making recommendations for strengthening loss mitigation and collections.
  • Challenge partners across supporting businesses to ensure alignment with risk requirements and credit risk limits.
  • Prepare materials for regular updates to senior risk leadership, risk forums, management, and credit risk committees.
  • Respond to ambiguous questions by forming a point of view and generating creative solutions.
  • Support analytics for senior management requests, including ad-hoc questions and preparation of talking points for investor meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Risk Management (underwriting/credit strategy/credit risk/collections).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, critical thinking, investigative problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, including active listening and the ability to summarize key takeaways in writing.
  • Ability to query large datasets and transform raw data into actionable management information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to synthesize and analyze diverse information, develop recommendations, and make decisions.
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, work independently, and perform under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience in the auto industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SAS, SQL, Teradata, and Tableau.
