About the position

As an Associate in the Auto Risk Management organization at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in the Collections Risk Strategy function. This position involves developing, executing, and monitoring credit risk management strategies for the auto loan and lease portfolio. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to leverage data and insights, assess the adequacy of collections strategies, and identify optimization opportunities, all while driving innovative solutions to enhance performance and mitigate losses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex analysis on credit risk and collections strategy effectiveness to identify emerging risks and assess existing strategies.
  • Monitor industry and economic trends in the automotive sector and changes in consumer behavior to understand impacts on collateral values and repayment willingness.
  • Monitor operations and credit risk strategy performance, identifying issues and making recommendations to strengthen loss mitigation and collections.
  • Challenge partners across supporting businesses to ensure alignment with risk requirements and other Credit Risk limits and metrics.
  • Prepare materials for regular updates to senior risk leadership, risk forums, management, credit risk committees, and regulators.
  • Answer ambiguous questions by forming a point of view and generating creative solutions that address requests.
  • Support analytics for senior management requests, including responding to ad-hoc questions and preparing talking points for investor meetings and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Risk Management (underwriting/credit strategy/credit risk/collections).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, critical thinking, investigative problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to capture and deliver key takeaways in writing.
  • Ability to query large amounts of data and transform raw data into actionable management information.
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze diverse information, develop recommendations, and make decisions.
  • Critical eye for detail and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, work independently, and perform under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Auto industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, Teradata, and Tableau.
