About the position

As a Credit Risk Analyst at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a crucial role in Risk Management and Compliance by utilizing your analytical skills and credit knowledge to support credit decisions for a diverse portfolio of clients. Your responsibilities will include conducting credit analysis, creating credit approval documents, and monitoring client credit exposures while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires collaboration with various teams to balance risk and return effectively, contributing to the firm's overall resilience and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct credit analysis and assist deal teams in seeking approval for lending and trading transactions.
  • Create written credit approval documents, including financial statement analysis and future cash flow projections for large corporate borrowers.
  • Develop a comprehensive view of business, financial, and competitive risks associated with companies and sectors.
  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of client credit exposures across various industries on an ongoing basis.
  • Take ownership of client credit needs and projects, independently developing credit opinions.
  • Review and assign risk ratings, maintaining updated credit research on client portfolios.
  • Participate in the credit due diligence process for clients, including capital markets transactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with training in accounting, corporate finance, capital markets products, and macroeconomics.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling abilities with excellent accounting and corporate finance expertise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an interest in client interaction.
  • Exceptional work ethic, highly motivated, and a passion for learning.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capable of understanding and debating complex concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Some credit/underwriting credentials and experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Consumer, Retail, or Healthcare sectors is a plus.
