About the position

The Risk Manager II will play a pivotal role in supporting the Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Hub, a new collaborative platform set to launch in 2025. This position focuses on enabling brands, law enforcement, and retail partners to report and coordinate investigations with Amazon investigators to combat organized retail crime. The role involves leveraging data-driven strategies and cross-functional collaboration to prevent, detect, and disrupt ORC activities that affect the Amazon store.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial reviews of escalations submitted to the ORC Hub, requesting necessary clarifications or additional information from partners.
  • Utilize external and internal tools and data sources to investigate escalated ORC cases, identifying dishonest activities and bad actors involved.
  • Collaborate with external partners throughout the investigative process, providing relevant information and evidence to support their efforts and law enforcement investigations.
  • Work with Amazon's cybercrime attorneys to ensure investigations comply with legal requirements.
  • Document investigation findings and actions taken within the ORC Hub, maintaining organized case files and ensuring proper resolution and archiving of escalations.
  • Analyze data and intelligence gathered to enhance Amazon's automated detection mechanisms for combating organized retail crime.
  • Stay updated on ORC trends, tactics, and best practices to improve the ORC Hub's capabilities and responsiveness.
  • Provide regular reporting and recommendations to leadership on the performance and impact of the ORC Hub initiative.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent.
  • Experience with research and investigation skills or equivalent.
  • Experience handling confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience.
  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials.
  • Experience with SQL and Excel.
  • Experience with regulatory filings and reports or equivalent.
