About the position
The Senior Risk Manager/Senior Negotiator for the Government & Public Services (GPS) team at Deloitte will focus on State, Local, and Higher Education (SLHE) sectors. This role is pivotal in managing business risks and contract negotiations throughout the engagement lifecycle, providing guidance to senior leaders, and ensuring compliance with risk management policies. The position requires extensive experience in negotiating large professional services contracts and managing complex IT implementations.
Responsibilities
- Support Deloitte Consulting's GPS practice from a contracting and negotiation perspective.
- Provide guidance and support to senior business leaders within the firm.
- Serve as a liaison between Principals, Directors, and Senior Managers and the Office of General Counsel.
- Advise practice leadership on potential quality and risk management issues.
- Facilitate internal compliance with contract terms and risk management policies.
- Conduct risk consultations for higher risk engagements prior to proposal submission.
- Negotiate professional services and product contracts, focusing on risk mitigation.
- Monitor compliance with professional standards and contractual obligations.
- Assist in client negotiations to resolve contractual issues.
Requirements
- 10+ years of contracts and negotiation experience.
- Experience managing the negotiation, delivery, and risk assessments of large professional services and product contracts.
- Experience working with client delivery teams, preferably in State, Local, or Higher Education.
- Experience with complex contract negotiation and high-stakes multi-million-dollar engagements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship.
- Bachelor's Degree.

- Juris Doctor (JD) Degree preferred.
