About the position
The Risk Manager position at Kaleida Health involves coordinating risk identification, loss control, clinical evaluation, and litigation management under the guidance of the Associate General Counsel for Corporate Risk Management. The role aims to reduce financial loss while enhancing organizational performance through quality and patient safety initiatives, incident reporting, and data analysis. Additionally, the Risk Manager provides real-time medical-legal advice and policy interpretation as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of risk identification and loss control.
- Conduct clinical evaluations and manage litigation processes.
- Investigate and resolve medical/legal issues.
- Support System-wide quality and patient safety initiatives.
- Oversee the incident reporting process and provide data analysis.
- Provide real-time medical-legal advice and policy interpretation to sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a health-related field required.
- 5 years of experience in general nursing or health/hospital related fields required.
- Master's in Nursing or a health-related field preferred.
- Previous investigative/legal experience preferred.
- Clinical/Nursing management experience preferred.
