About the position

The Risk Services Analyst plays a crucial role in identifying, developing, synthesizing, and presenting information and recommendations aimed at enhancing loss prevention initiatives. This position involves monitoring real-time event data to detect and alert on breaking news, crises, and risks that may impact the organization. The analyst will leverage Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools to collect and exploit publicly available information, ensuring that the company remains informed about emerging trends, patterns, vulnerabilities, and threats within the jewelry industry. In collaboration with Risk Services Leadership, the analyst will gather intelligence, process incoming information, and assess the significance and reliability of various reports and messages. Participation in risk assessments is essential, as the analyst will formulate analyses on potential risks, threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies to bolster the company's security posture and resilience. The role may also involve leading or supporting special projects related to strategic initiatives, utilizing resources from within the company, as well as external vendors and partners. Additionally, the analyst will support the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the monitoring, collection, analysis, and dissemination of risk data. This includes accessing data from internal and external systems to create and maintain dashboards and datasets that validate Risk Service initiatives or highlight areas for improvement. The ability to interpret and communicate data effectively, along with making actionable recommendations to key stakeholders, is vital. Collaboration with various departments, including Product Development, Analytics, IT, and Underwriting, will be necessary to create reliable and consistent data sets for reporting purposes. The analyst will also be responsible for creating and presenting inter-departmental and company reports or dashboards to monitor overall performance and initiative success. A strong appetite for learning, adaptability to change, and innovative thinking are essential traits for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct collection and exploitation of Publicly Available Information (PAI) using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) tools.
  • Monitor, identify, and analyze information about emerging trends, patterns, vulnerabilities, and threats surrounding the industry and company.
  • Work closely with Risk Services Leadership to gather intelligence and process incoming information, reports, and messages.
  • Participate in risk assessments and formulate analysis on potential risks, threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead or support special projects or research efforts related to strategic initiatives.
  • Support Risk Services Leadership in the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Access data via internal and external systems to create, prepare, and maintain dashboards/data sets.
  • Accurately interpret and communicate data with recommendations or reports to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with various departments to create reliable, consistent, and rich data sets for reporting.
  • Create, maintain, and present various inter-departmental and company reports or dashboards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiencies.
  • Represent the department and company on projects and committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of one to three years in OSINT and risk analysis, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in analytical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly with data manipulation and pivot tables.
  • Experience with PowerPivot, SQL, Power BI, and/or other query/reporting skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and translate data into actionable opportunities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Property/casualty insurance background and jewelry industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and establish working relationships.
