About the position

RKLA Studio is a New York City-based Landscape Architecture firm that specializes in creating beautiful and functional landscapes for institutional, multifamily, and high-end residential projects. We are currently seeking a Landscape Architect/Designer with 3-6 years of experience to join our team. This role will involve working on multiple projects simultaneously and sharing responsibility for the general operations of the office. The ideal candidate will be passionate about landscape architecture, dedicated to their work, and personable, fitting well into our tight-knit team of designers. Our studio, located in Hudson Square, offers a casual yet focused work environment, where creativity and collaboration thrive. As a Landscape Architect/Designer at RKLA Studio, you will participate in design charrettes, create renderings and presentation drawings, and prepare design and construction documents. You will also be responsible for preparing technical specifications and cost estimates, attending client and site meetings, and documenting meeting minutes. This position requires a strong commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work in a timely manner, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. We are looking for someone who is highly proficient in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Your involvement will span all aspects of a project, from concept through construction, as well as the day-to-day operations of our small design firm.

Responsibilities

  • Participation in design charrettes
  • Creation of renderings and presentation drawings
  • Preparation of design and construction documents
  • Preparation of technical specifications and cost estimates

Requirements

  • 3-6 years' experience working for a Landscape Architecture firm
  • BLA or MLA degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills including proven ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work in a timely manner
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Desire to be involved and participate in all aspects of a project, from concept through construction, as well as the day-to-day operations of a small design firm.
