About the position
The RN position in the 10 West Acute Care for the Elderly unit at Carilion Clinic focuses on providing high-quality nursing care to geriatric patients. The role emphasizes promoting functional mobility and assisting patients in their transition to home or skilled-care facilities. Registered nurses are expected to deliver exceptional care and customer service while collaborating with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities
- Complete age-specific admission and ongoing assessments, documenting findings to develop a plan of care.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families to create, implement, and evaluate an interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients of all ages.
- Administer and document treatments and medications accurately using electronic medical records.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program eligible for VA licensure exam.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain licensure.
- Obtain CPR certification and, as needed, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
- Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC) usage.
