About the position

The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) at UF Health is responsible for assessing and addressing patients' health alterations, implementing nursing interventions, and evaluating their effectiveness to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role emphasizes collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide high-quality care and support the organization's mission of excellence in nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Identify alterations in patients' health and assess their responses to health problems.
• Implement nursing interventions based on theoretical concepts from nursing and other sciences.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Supervise and direct care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
• Assign and delegate care to other qualified members of the healthcare team.
• Coordinate care between various professional disciplines as needed.
• Participate in unit-based activities that contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the State of Florida.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred at time of hire.
• Professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Professional nursing board certification within two years of hire for those without it at the time of hire.
• BSN must be obtained within three years of hire for those without it.
