About the position

As a key member of UCLA Health, you will provide exceptional nursing care for 4SW Med Surg patients, contributing to the delivery of Magnet® designated nursing excellence. This role involves supervising nursing interventions, assessing learning needs, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care for 4SW Med Surg patients.
• Supervise nursing interventions and assign related tasks to team members.
• Assess patient, family, and staff learning needs.
• Deliver appropriate clinical education to patients and staff.
• Promote effective working relationships within the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide detailed care instructions to patients and families.

Requirements

• Current California RN license and relevant clinical nursing skills.
• BSN/MSN required.
• BCLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required; ACLS preferred.
• 6+ months recent acute RN experience required; Oncology and/or Intermediate Care/PCU experience preferred.
• Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions consistently.
• Ability to perform historical, physical, and behavioral patient assessments.
• Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans involving patients, family, and staff.

Nice-to-haves

• Oncology Certified RN or other Professional Nursing Certification preferred.
