About the position
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care, you will be responsible for the delegation, supervision, and provision of nursing care for a designated group of patients. This role involves utilizing the nursing process to provide age-appropriate patient care, participating in research, and incorporating findings into clinical practice. The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00 and requires a valid RN license in Illinois along with specific certifications.
Responsibilities
- Performs age appropriate assessments.
- Analyzes data to identify nursing problems.
- Provides direct patient care and develops individualized plans of care in partnership with patients and families.
- Evaluates patient progress toward attainment of goals, revising plans of care when indicated.
- Delegates patient care tasks to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel based on job description and patient needs.
- Supervises performance of LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel appropriately.
- Builds teamwork when supervising and delegating to others.
- Documents patient care according to policies and procedures.
- Ensures appropriate implementation of physician's orders.
- Precepts new nursing employees and/or nursing students.
- Identifies and resolves safety risks.
- Participates in continuous quality improvement and periodic review of policies and procedures.
- Assists with educational activities for other staff on the nursing unit.
- Performs other related work as required or requested.
Requirements
- Current RN license in the State of Illinois required.
- Healthcare Provider or Instructor BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS Provider or Instructor certification required within one year of hire date.
- 12 months experience as a registered nurse is required for promotion in the clinical ladder.
Nice-to-haves
- BSN preferred.
- Enrollment in BSN or MSN program or completion of BSN required for higher Clinical Nurse levels.
