Responsibilities

  • Implements and monitors patient care plans.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Conducts initial assessment, re-assessment, and focused assessment based on patient condition, setting, and population.
  • Identifies problems based on clinical judgment about the patient's response to health conditions or needs.
  • Sets measurable and achievable short- and long-range goals in collaboration with the patient and family.
  • Establishes daily goals with the patient and family and formulates a plan of care.
  • Implements nursing care according to the care plan, ensuring continuity of care during hospitalization and in preparation for discharge.
  • Ensures patient safety, administers medication, provides ordered treatments, and educates patients and families.
  • Documents care in the patient's healthcare record.
  • Continuously evaluates the patient's status and the effectiveness of nursing care, modifying the care plan as needed.
  • Coordinates care by managing and correcting the sequence, timing, and effectiveness of patient care from admission to discharge.

Requirements

  • Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
