About the position
The Registered Nurse (RN) position in Ambulatory Pediatric Neurosurgery at American Family Children's Hospital involves providing comprehensive care for children with neurological conditions. The role emphasizes collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on holistic patient care and education for both patients and their families. The RN will engage in triage, assist with procedures, and contribute to a supportive work environment that values input and fosters professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive life-changing care for pediatric patients with neurological conditions.
- Work collaboratively with a team of providers and nurses to foster learning and education.
- Partner with patients and families to deliver holistic care.
- Complete triage for complex patient populations and provide education in-person and over the phone.
- Assist with procedures such as suture removal, shunt taps, and shunt reprogramming.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- Minimum of six (6) months of RN experience.
- Registration as a registered nurse in the state of employment or licensure in a state in the licensure compact.
- CPR/BLS Certification.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Relevant RN experience.
