Responsibilities

• Involves patients and significant others in their care plan and education.
• Plans and intervenes in patient care by demonstrating basic nursing skills and maintaining a safe environment.
• Evaluates care through ongoing assessments and post-op calls to patients.
• Makes competent clinical decisions and involves management when necessary.
• Assists in all areas of surgical services as needed.
• Documents patient care and responses in a timely manner.
• Administers medications and treatments according to hospital policy.
• Applies evidence-based practice in surgical nursing care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
• No prior experience required.
