About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Behavioral Health is responsible for executing comprehensive nursing care activities and providing leadership within the nursing staff. This role involves assessing patient needs, planning and implementing care activities, and evaluating patient responses to treatment. The RN will manage activities within the therapeutic environment and direct the nursing care delivered by the treatment team, ensuring holistic care is provided. The position requires the RN to act as a resource and mentor for new nurses, demonstrating knowledge of mental health medications and providing education to patients and families.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and develop care plans.
  • Implement patient care activities and evaluate responses to treatment.
  • Manage activities within the therapeutic milieu.
  • Direct the delivery of nursing care by other team members.
  • Provide ongoing education to patients and families about medications.
  • Communicate changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience as a staff RN.
  • Graduate of a professional school of nursing.
  • Current Montana License as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification required.
