About the position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. PTCA (Angioplasty Recovery) is a 14-bed advanced cardiovascular interventional unit that provides pre & post procedural care for acute cardiology patients: cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology which includes ablations, pacemaker insertions, ICD placement, and TAVRs. We also do Watchmans and Mitraclips.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the PTCA unit.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes.
- Assist with cardiac catheterization and other interventional procedures.
- Educate patients and families about post-procedural care.
Requirements
- Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for some units.
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university.
