About the position

The Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) at Mercy is seeking both graduate and experienced registered nurses (RNs) to join their dynamic team. This unit specializes in the care of post-operative cardiovascular patients and those with acute and chronic heart conditions. The role emphasizes critical thinking and quick decision-making skills, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

• Provide care for post-operative cardiovascular patients and those with acute/chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Surgeons, Care Management, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Lab, Pharmacy, and Transport Team.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including those recovering from CABGs, congestive heart failure, afib, and STEMI.
• Utilize critical thinking and quick decision-making skills in patient care.
• Support and educate patients and their families regarding health management and recovery.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Current RN license within the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Ability to meet all state board of nursing requirements.
